Our principle: Community thrives on mantaining individual boundaries. With our room layout, we specifically create meeting spaces in combination with private space. In addition, our concept idea is to combine many different types of apartments in a row building, in combination with attractive living conditions in the inbetween outdoor area.

Urban planning concept

 

The property is occupied by the building typology of the row building. In total, the setting contains four pairs.

The top building to the north is connected to the existing building and not connected as a pair, which creates its own design language. Each row has a depth of at least 8 meters with a two-meter-long arcade, as well as differentiated sizes up to 12 meter deep. The length of the row pairs is 30 to 40 meters each.

The regular pairing of two row typologies creates an expanding area of ​​semi-public design in the middle, creating attractive meeting spaces in the courtyards. This is furthermore done through a varied program of the shops, for example in  form of a fitness studio, a pottery workshop or a bicycle workshop.

 

Architectural concept

 

A design grid offers a clear system with a mixture of apartment types, from single to family living, shared apartments and maisonette apartments. complemented by a sustainable construction, prefabrication in the factory and quick assembly on site. The facade consists of wooden slats and mechanically adjustable sliding shutters.Modular wood construction and free floor plans allow residents to flexibly change their apartment. The different apartment types offer a suitable apartment for every social class and on the other hand create gaps in the facade that make the building appear more lively and less massive. Combined with greenery on the roof, which is accessible to residents and a community space on the roof.
