"Kink in the Thuringian Forest" - Shelter on the Rennsteig hiking trail

Location
The shelter is located directly on the Rennsteig hiking trail, between the hiking stages 7 & 8 and is located near one slate mountains in the middle of the forest, with two small towns nearby.
Programm
The refuge in the Thuringian Forest has two floors, on the ground floor there is the kitchen with a window that offers a special view from the dining table. The programm contains a wooden staircase that leads to the upper floor with two separate sleeping areas with space for up to 8 people.​
A large gable window and two side windows on the upper floor allow sufficient light into the sleeping area and guests have a beautiful view on both sides of the cabin.

Construction
The entire construction is one wooden frame construction. The facade consists of alternating seam formwork made of larch. The construction of the roof covering consists of a standing seam sheet made of aluminum. Four Individual foundations support the structure and form two cantilevers on the north side.
